John Edridge died from wounds on 1st November, 1914, after having been returned to England from Belgium. 7th Division, which included the 2nd Border battalion of 20 Brigade had been involved in the defence of Antwerp in October 1914, before moving to Ypres and the desperate fighting there during the First Battle of Ypres. It is not known when he was wounded. |
